Back to Basics…..again!

And by back to the basics I mean back to what got me to the healthiest and fittest levels I’ve ever been. It hasn’t been an easy week back. It takes courage to go back to what has worked in the past but was abandoned. It takes courage to face the people who got you there and were abandoned. It takes courage to admit that the current path is not working and something has to change. It takes courage to admit that even though life events happen, it’s not an excuse to let yourself go over the cliff. The truth is that the path to health and well being is an individual quest whose success is the sole responsibility of said individual. It isn’t easy, and the statistics don’t favor success…but it’s worth the fighting for.

It has been a grueling week. I’ve puffed and I’ve panted. I’ve been tired and I’ve been frustrated, but I push on. The Muay Thai mechanics are still there, but the endurance and cardio levels are way down. It’s my sole responsibility to bring it back up over the coming weeks and months. I’ve driven off the cliff entirely and I’m climbing back up…..

Afterall…..we are only human!
